Peruvian President Ollanta Humala appointed three new ministers on Wednesday, but kept several of the key posts in his cabinet unchanged.

The head of state appointed Magali Silva as Peru's new Trade and Tourism minister, replacing Jose Luis Silva, who announced his resignation on Monday.

Silva, who will be responsible for overseeing Peru's free trade negotiations, was previously the deputy minister of production.

Humala, who is about to complete his second year in office, also named Monica Rubio as the new Development and Social Inclusion minister, replacing Carolina Trivelli. Rubio is an economist that has worked at the Inter-American Development Bank.

Diana Alvarez was appointed Peru's new Culture minister, replacing Luis Peirano. Alvarez has held several public-sector positions, including posts in the Justice Ministry and the national ombudsman's office.

Peruvian presidents often replace cabinet members prior to the country's July 28 independence holiday.

Key cabinet members including Prime Minister Juan Jimenez, Finance Minister Luis Miguel Castilla and Mines and Energy Minister Jorge Merino remain in their posts, Dow Jones Newswires reported.
