Peruvian President Ollanta Humala held a meeting with French Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development Laurent Fabius, with whom he reviewed the bilateral and cooperation ties between both nations.

Held last night at the Government Palace in Lima, the meeting addressed the dynamic joint efforts undertaken in New York during the 70th Session of the UN General Assembly.

They underlined the successful organization of the presidential lunch which resulted in a poverty reduction agenda, the transformation of global economy into a low-carbon, resilient world, and concrete actions to finance the fight against climate change.

Also, the two senior authorities highlighted the elimination of the Schengen visa requirement for Peruvians; a decision that received support from France and that will significantly contribute to the rapprochement of their peoples and, therefore, to the cultural exchange and increase of tourism.

The Head of State reiterated invention to French President François Hollande to visit Peru next year.
