Peru's President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski monitors measures taken against landslides that hit Chosica and Santa Eulalia districts (Lima region).

As is known, heavy rains —which started on Sunday at 2:00 PM— led to emergency in the mentioned districts.

Thus, the Head of State arrived at the National Emergency Operations Center (COEN), located in Lima metropolitan area's San Borja district.

On Sunday, the high-ranking official assured the Government works decidedly to keep the situation in hand.

Likewise, the 78-year-old requested citizens —who became stranded at Carretera Central highway due to landslides— to remain patient until authorities complete debris-removal operations.

Transport and Communications Minister Martin Vizcarra on Monday morning informed the said highway had reopened to traffic at early morning hours following operations.
