Peruvian President Ollanta Humala left Berlin on Tuesday morning heading off Brazil to attend the 2nd working meeting of the BRICS leaders, thus continuing with the second leg of his three-nation official tour.
The head of Peru's State ended a productive two-day working visit to Germany where he held talks with the Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin and with the top executive board from Fraport AG, the world's second largest airport operator.

Humala’s attendance at the above forum aims to reach a closer approach with the five countries forming BRICS including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, taking into account this high-level bloc represents a world’s leading commercial platform of broad projection.

Within this framework, Peru’s chief government executive is set to hold meetings with his counterparts from China’s People Republic, Xi Jinping; from Brazil, Dilma Rouseff; and India’s recently-elected Prime Minister, Narendra Mondi.

Likewise, the upcoming session, to be held in the northeastern city of Fortaleza, seeks to bolster a working economic agenda among the BRICS group and top economic performers of South America with a view to achieving an inclusive economic growth.

Indeed, the forum pursuits to set up mechanisms and political guidelines to reach a sustainable productive development, enhancement of infrastructure and the promotion of quality investments.

The BRICS countries are home of 43 percent of the world’s population, US$ 4.4 trillion in currency reserves, and generally healthier economic growth than Europe and the United States.

According to Peru’s Press Secretariat, the afore-mentioned world’s top emerging bloc accounts for 21 percent of the global Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

At the end of his Brazil’s two-day visit, the Peruvian leader will travel to Mexico where he is scheduled to meet with this country’s head of State, Enrique Peña Nieto, thus concluding his three-nation trip.
