Oficializan el tercer domingo de julio como el Día del Pollo a la Brasa

11:35 | Tel Aviv (Israel), Jan. 5.

Israel welcomed its first pollo a la brasa (Peru rotisserie chicken) restaurant “Eco Lima,” the Peruvian Trade Office in Tel Aviv (OCEX Tel Aviv) reported.

The food outlet is now open for business at Sarona Market, Israel's largest international indoor food market in Tel Aviv.

The idea for “Eco Lima” was born during a visit from Israeli investors, who came to the Andean nation to meet with local food providers encouraged by OCEX Tel Aviv.

And they did not return to Israel empty-handed. Having seen potential in the Peruvian signature dish, they decided to introduce it in their homeland.

To this end, entrepreneurs acquired the necessary supplies in Peru, as well as the first pollo a la brasa ecological oven, before heading back to the Mediterranean country. The rest is history.

Sarona Market is a food hall that blends gourmet and consumer products over 8,700 square meters. Its 91 stores, stalls and restaurants feature local and global products under one roof, combining the best local and global culinary offer.

Israeli Market

Known for its openness to international cuisines, the Israeli market is a cultural melting pot. Thus, OCEX Tel Aviv saw the opportunity to promote Peruvian ingredients and tourist attractions through our well-known gastronomy.

Peru's culinary success in Israel partly owes to its renowned chef Diego Muñoz, who organized a Peruvian food festival in Jaffa Tel Aviv restaurant last November.
