Website ThePacker.com recently reported that Pacific Organic Produce's San Francisco venue is importing organic Peruvian Red Globe grape.
According to Pacific Organic Produce's press release, Peruvian grapes are an alternative to South African organic grapes, which can take up to 35 days to reach the United States, while the ones from Peru arrive in less than three weeks.
"The size and taste are really excellent. We're very excited, "said Greg Holzman, founder of the company. "The United States fumigates grapes from Chile, the main supplier of grapes in winter time, so acquiring organic grapes has been a personal project for many years," he said.
Holzman drove a bio-pesticides business in Brazil to accompany the development of organic grapes there. The project failed, but the entrepreneur did not lose hope and turned his attention to Peru.
Pacific Organic Produce expects to import up to 35,000 boxes of organic grapes from our country until mid-March, FreshPlaza.com reported, citing Agraria.pe.
Pacific Organic Produce is an importer with suppliers in Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Afghanistan. In Peru, the company works with Agroexport Consortium of Peru, which is based in Piura.
