Peruvian "Magallanes" to compete at 51st Chicago International Film Festival

After announcing that Peruvian film Magallanes will be nominated for a 2016 Goya award, director Salvador del Solar confirmed the movie will officially premiere in United States within the framework of the 51st Chicago International Film Festival.

The said mega cinema event will take place on October 15 – 29.

The movie has been nominated for the "New Directors Competition," sponsored by Columbia College Chicago.

This competition includes films from countries: Argentina, Brazil, China, Denmark, Iceland, Iran, Japan, Mexico, Peru, Poland, United Kingdom and United States.

Mexican director Guillermo del Toro's La Delgada Linea Amarilla is also included in the section.

In upcoming days Salvador del Solar and Christian Meier will present the Peruvian movie at the Toronto and San Sebastian Film Festivals.

Magallanes is played in Peruvian theaters.
