Deals closed at Industria Perú 2015's business roundtable may exceed US$70 million in the next twelve months leading to a 45.2% increase compared to the previous edition, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva announced.

"Due to the specialized and well-coordinated work carried out by PromPeru and Peruvian Trade Offices abroad (OCEXs), Peruvian exporters participated in more than 1,700 business meetings held with 130 foreign buyers from 22 countries," she emphasized.

Industria Perú 2015 was held on August 15. It saw the participation of 182 enterprises, which meant a 73% growth compared to the previous edition.

87% of small- and medium-sized enterprise representatives arrived from Peruvian regions such as: Arequipa, Junin, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Ucayali and Lima.

Likewise, 130 buyers took part in the event, a 44% increase. They arrived from Bolivia, Colombia, Central America, United States, Canada, Spain, Czech Republic and Korea, among other countries.

According to the Minister, a business strategy was adopted to identify potential buyers and thus "getting them closer" to Peruvian enterprises.

Products

Packaging, construction materials, spare parts, food processing equipment and mining supplies were traded. Likewise, personal care & hygiene items, medical equipment, lumber, its by-products and paper industry goods were included in the negotiations for the first time.
