Peruvian FM held talks with counterpart of UAE

Peru’s Foreign Minister Eda Rivas met with her United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) counterpart Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The bilateral meeting was held at Torre Tagle palace in the Peruvian capital Lima in order to discuss ways to enhance the two countries’ bilateral cooperation in core sectors such as trade and tourism. 

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the latest developments on the regional and international levels as well as discussing a number of issues of common interest.

Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the ongoing ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations, expressing his hopes to maintain sophisticated and prosperous relations in various fields with the aim contributing to the welfare and interests of the two friendly peoples.

Meanwhile, Rivas stressed Peru is eager to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the Middle East nation in several areas, in particular in the culture sector. Moreover, the head of the Andean nation’s diplomacy commended the prestige occupied by the UAE at both regional and international levels.

Following the gathering, Sheikh Abdullah attended a luncheon hosted by his Peruvian counterpart in his honor, along with his accompanying delegation.

On the sidelines of the luncheon, Sheikh Abdullah held talks with the Peruvian Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Magali Silva, and Luis Castilla, Minister of Economy and Finance, discussing areas of investment, tourism, agriculture and aviation between the two countries.

Likewise, Sheikh Abdullah met with the Peruvian Congress President Fredy Otarola, gulftoday.ae reported.

They discussed ways to enhance relations of cooperation between the UAE and Peru in various fields and the importance of development in the parliamentary, economic, investment, tourism and energy sectors, the exchange of visits and experiences and promising opportunities existing in these countries in order to take advantage of them.

Fredy Otarola expressed his admiration for the latest UAE’s achievements, and the development of various areas, which adds to the cultural renaissance and tourism enjoyed by the country.
