Peru's Transport and Communications Minister Bruno Giuffra on Thursday rang the traditional trading bell of London Stock Exchange (LSE), one of the world's most important financial centers.

"Being in showcases around the globe is important to us, and what better occasion than this huge, historic, traditional stock exchange. Being in Europe's financial capital is such a great opportunity," he told Andina news agency.

The activity took place as part of the 13th inPERU Road Show–Europe, which kicked off October 30 and runs thru November 2 to attract international capitals into the Andean country.

"This is the end of a tour that has been particularly successful in the number of people who are interested in knowing about Peru, and the number of projects included in the Transport-Communications and Mining portfolios," President of Government-supported nonprofit inPERU Francis Stenning underlined.

Peru a good destination for investment

On the other hand, LSE Chief Executive Officer Nikhil Rathi said this is the third time Peru participates in this traditional bell-ringing ceremony.

He also underlined the Inca nation's economic growth outlook for 2018 of about 4%.

"We are happy to have you here for the third time. Peru is a good destination for investment, as it makes up 8% of world's investment in mining exploration," he noted.
