Today in an extraordinary plenary session, Peruvian Congress will debate once the new Youth Employment Law.
Last Friday the President of the Republic, Ollanta Humala, called a Congress extraordinary plenary session to debate the motions and regulations concerning the new youth labor regime.
In a televised address to the nation, the President expressed the to-be-held Congress meeting represents a new opportunity for the national representation, which once approved the motion, to reencounter with citizenship.
Although the motion was first approved by the Legislative Power, it was later rejected by members of the opposition.
The new Youth Employment Law seeks to enable youngsters (aged: 18 - 24), who do have not completed studies, to find a formal job. The benefits include: being added to payroll list, provided insurance and a 15-day-paid vacation.
The regime will last for three years and will train youth in the work field.
The new Youth Employment Law will enable to create new job positions for the youth in order to keep unemployment rate low, the Peruvian government has stated.
