The first Peruvian Christmas animated film “Cascanueces” (The Nutcracker) has already been sold to 10 countries, although it is yet to be released in the South American country.

"The movie was sold to [producing companies in the] United States, Italy, France, Japan, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia and Chile. I think something important has been made. It is the first Christmas film I directed. My daughter will go to watch it. In fact, she has already done so and was the first critic," filmmaker Eduardo Schuldt told.

Previously, he created the animated Peruvian film titled Pirates in Callao. According to the recognized professional "animation has made considerable progress in our country."

"The Nutcracker" revolves around the classic Christmas toy aimed at teaching a love lesson.

"It is a traditional tale about a Christmas gift for two siblings, who don't get along very well. They fight. The purpose is to learn that they have to share this toy. As long as that happens, the toy is alive [...]," Schuldt explained.

"Here we highlight the siblings' union, the fight for the principals [...]," he added.

The film will be released at the Peruvian movie theaters on November 26th, 2015.
