Peru-Turkey FTA's fourth negotiation round held in Lima

The fourth negotiation round on Peru-Turkey Free Trade Agreement (FTA) takes place in Lima from November 24th-27th, Peru's Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva reported on Wednesday.

On this occasion, negotiating groups focus on Access to Markets, Services, Intellectual Property, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, among other topics.

Peruvian team

The Peruvian team is composed of officials from Ministries of: Foreign Trade and Tourism, Economy and Finance, Foreign Affairs, Health, as well as representatives of the National Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat). 

To date, the Cooperation Chapter negotiation has already concluded and progress has been made in Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) and Trade Defense chapters.

Turkey as market

It must be noted Turkey involves 74.9 million inhabitants. Likewise, it is the world’s 17th and Europe’s 7th largest economy.

This country is also an active member of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the G20.
