Given his extraordinary performances at Werder Bremen, Peruvian striker Claudio Pizarro was highlighted by FIFA.

To date, Pizarro has managed to score a total of 182 Bundesliga goals, and thus set a new record for Peruvian athletes.

"[...] Claudio Pizarro made history on Friday. The 37-year-old also marked the occasion with a goal, continuing a wonderful run of form that has seen him find the net six times in his last five outings," FIFA published on the eve.

"This scoring streak has also taken the Peruvian up another notch in the Bundesliga’s list of all-time leading marksmen, where he now sits in joint-fifth with Ulf Kirsten on 182," it stressed.

Likewise, "Pizza" could become Werder Bremen's top-scorer ever, if he manages to add other seven to his resume. The ranking is led by Marco Bode (142).
