Amazing long-distance runner Luis Ostos grabbed a new triumph for Peru’s athletics by breaking a national record in the 10,000 meter dash.

Ostos broke the record with a time of 27 minutes 54.80.

The result allowed him to claim a ticket for Rio 2016 Olympic Games. 

The national athlete thanked the support of his Mexican coach Rodolfo Gomez, who accompanied him during competition. 

Qualified runners:

The list of national runners, qualified for Rio 2016, is composed of: Ines Melchor, Gladys Tejeda, Yovana de la Cruz, Raul Pacheco, Cristian Pacheco, Willy Canchanya (marathon), Kimberly Garcia, Pavel Chihuan (walk) and Luis Ostos.
