Peruvian Linda Lecca will defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) super flyweight title against Mexican Karina "La Bella" Fernandez.

Competition will take place on Saturday at Gran Chimu Coliseum in Peru's northern Trujillo city, hometown of Lecca.

The so-called "Inca Princess" addressed the media, saying she is Peru's only world female boxing champion right now and affirming she will defend the title responsibly.

The 29-year-old boxer became the world female super flyweight champion when she beat Brazilian Simone Da Silva in June 2014.

Since then, Lecca has retained the WBA belt against Venezuelan Carolina Alvarez, as well as Guadalupe Martinez and Maribel Ramirez, both from Mexico.

Likewise, she is the second Peruvian female to win a boxing title after Kina Malpartida.

On the other hand, Fernandez —5th in the WBA ranking— is confident she will defeat Lecca and determined to take revenge for her compatriots.
