Peru's Kuczynski arrives in Cusco

Peruvian President-elect Pedro Pablo Kuczynski arrived on Thursday afternoon in the Imperial city of Cusco to participate in the first Decentralization Summit taking place this Saturday.

Mr. Kuczynski arrived at 05:40 PM (local time) at Velasco Astete International Airport joined by Vice-Presidents-elect Martin Vizcarra and Mercedes Araoz. Upon arrival, the delegation was welcomed by local authorities and supporters. 

"I have come here, to the South of Peru, to say thank you. Thank you, Cusco. I listen to you. That's why I came here. We are going to work for Peru, but above all for Cusco and the Southern part of the country," he expressed.

Activities

On Friday morning, the President-elect will meet with Cusco Mayor Carlos Moscoso at the city's Municipal Palace. 

Afterwards, the PPK party leader will participate in the "Two Worlds Encounter" at Main Square, on the occasion of traditional Inti Raymi Festival.

During the evening, he will be granted an Honorary Doctorate from San Antonio Abad National University.

On Saturday morning, the former Minister will attend the Decentralization Summit at Coricancha Temple esplanade.
The event is expected to gather 25 governors and 1,800 mayors from all across the country to address citizen security and decentralization process.

Honors will be paid to the President-elect by granting him Keys to the City.

Likewise, Mr. Kuczynski will meet with former soccer World Cup Champion Ronaldinho.
