Peru's Julio Seminario wins China Global Energy Race

Peruvian long-distance runner Julio Seminario ended first in the 10K Global Energy Race in held in Beijing (China) on September 25.

Born in Ica region's Nazca city, the athlete had already been national champion in the 800 and 1,500 meters. 

For the last two years, the 27-year-old has been training in Peru's Southern city of Cusco. Training sessions comprise Peruvian Sports Institute's marathon program.

His beginning dates back to 2004, when he participated in a 7K marathon in his hometown. There, he was noticed by a headhunter, and thus his career began.

It must be noted the Global Energy Race 2016 broke a new Guinness World Record, after having taken place in 37 different cities and 22 countries on the same day.
