Peru's Finance Ministry to attend TPP talks in Malaysia

Peru's Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) will participate in the 18th round of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations to be held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, on July 15-25, 2013.

The meeting seeks to build on progress made at the previous rounds held in the Peruvian Capital of Lima and Vancouver, Canada.

The negotiators of the 11 countries involved in the TPP talks are expected to reach an agreement on relevant issues such as investments, financial services, market access for goods and rules of origin.

The eleven countries currently involved in the talks are Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States and Vietnam.

In a statement on Wednesday, MEF said that two of its officials will attend this 18th round of talks in Malaysia.
