Peruvian squash player Diego Elias finished runner-up in the final of the Under 19 British Junior Open which took place in London, England Monday morning.
The 17 years- old player had not lost a single game heading into the final, but the Jordanian Ahmad Alsaraj nullified the Peruvian’s power to win 7-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-3 in the final junior event.

But while Diego’s hopes of landing successive British Junior Open titles are over, many predict a bright future for the Peruvian teenager who was recently likened to Jansher Khan by Australian legend Geoff Hunt.

Last year, Diego Elias was crowned champion of the U-19 Pan American Junior Squash Championship in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and gained bronze medal at the Under-19 Dutch Junior Open in Amsterdam.

This international championship considered the second most prestigious junior open squash championship in the squash history after the World Junior Squash Championships gathered 424 players from 36 countries.
