The Peruvian Delia Lopez came out victorious at the 2014 Salinas Triathlon Pan American Cup and South American Championships held in Ecuador last Saturday.
Lopez achieved the gold-medal perfomance in the ladies junior category (14-19 years) by completing successfully the sprint distance race of 750 meters (0.47 miles), the 20 kilometer-(12 miles) bike race and the 5 kilometer-(3.1 miles) run race.
The triumph of the triathlete was highlighted by his coaches Rodrigo León (swimming), Fernando Sabogal (cycling), and Rodrigo Medrano (race), who accompanied Delia Lopez to the northern nighboring nation.
This competition, organized by the Panamerican Triathlon Confederation, brought together more than 22 athletes from Latin America and Caribbean countries.
