Peruvian blueberry exports amounted to US$13,08 million in 2013, a 2.71 percent increase compared with a year earlier, according to Sierra Exportadora’s CEO, Alfonso Velasquez Tuesta.
At the opening of the International Symposium on Peruvian Super Fruits, Fruticia 2014, Velasquez stated that the main exporting companies of this product were Camposol and Talsa, which together accounted for over 95 percent of total shipments.
Moreover, the entrepreneur noted the products' main markets in the reported period had been the United States with 39%, Hong Kong with 22%, and the Netherlands with 20%.
Likewise, the United Kingdom accounted for 10 percent; Belgium, 4 percent; Spain, 3 percent and Costa Rica, 1 percent, while others have 1 percent,
