Lunahuana, located in Lima's Cañete province, is a paradise for adventure sports

Air travels to domestic destinations in Peru during the Independence Day holiday weekend are expected to see a 60 percent growth with respect to the same period a year earlier, online tourism agency Atrapalo said.
“The said performance will be due to the strong travel demand of citizens from Lima, the nation’s capital, who are eager to touring the country’s top destinations nationwide,” said Diego Laura, chief marketing officer at the Peru-based tourism agency.

“Steady improvement in the country’s economy along with increased consumer spending and confidence are the main factors driving more Peruvians to take a trip,” the travel forecast released Monday noted.

The Andean nation’s Independence Day holiday travel period is scheduled to run from Friday, July 25th to Tuesday, July 29th.

Likewise, Laura stated that tickets to attend plays at local theaters are projected to post a 80 percent increase during the upcoming holidays.

“People who do not have the opportunity to take a trip during the long national holidays prefer to spend their spare time carrying out activities within the city,” the tourist official told Andina news agency.

Laura added, “Theater performances and stand-up comedies are good alternatives for these fellow countrymen”.
