Peru: Ucayali Carnival to welcome 10,000 visitors on main days

Ucayali Carnival expects to receive 10,000 visitors during its main days, the region’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Director Lizeth Rengifo announced.

Such event has become one of the Peruvian rainforest region's main festivities celebrated each February.

Rengifo indicated that a series of activities will be carried out during this festival, such as: canoeing exhibition, beauty contest, gastronomy exhibit and reforestation conferences, among others. 

"We have made a reasonable estimate [...], we project 10,000 visitors will arrive," she underlined. 

Thanks to the recent promotion workshop developed in Lima, great interest has emerged from tour operators and the media. 

Ucayali Carnival aims to set an own cultural identity, where local people revalue the customs of the Amazon communities and convey its significant relevance to visitors. 

The Carnival's main days will take place on February 25th – 28th.
