Peru Travel, a mobile app for tourism created by Promperu, was listed as one of the best three apps in the category "Destination Guide" of The AppTourism Awards, Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) announced on Friday.
The international competition was organized by SEGITTUR —body attached to the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and the Digital Agenda of Spain— and awards prizes to the best international apps that help improve tourists' travel experience.
Nearly 100 applications were received for the competition, whose panel of judges included expert professionals
in the sectors of technology, tourism and online marketing and communication.
Announcement was made at the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR 2017) in Spain.
About the app
Peru Travel provides tourist information about regions across the country, and suggests what to do and where to go, based on travelers' interests.
The app is available in three languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese.
The "Experiences" section contains six options to discover Peru, filled with magical experiences that engage all the senses; also, there is a section devoted exclusively to the famed local gastronomy, and another with multiple destinations.
The software application has handy and useful information for vacationers such as currency converter, phone numbers to be used in an emergency, and a list of useful phrases.
These functions can be used without internet connection.
As is known, Peru offers many opportunities to connect with its mystical past and rich culture.
This application is described as a tool that helps travelers in their journey through a land with exquisite cuisine, traditional and modern art, and unlimited supply of entertainment. Users can also discover stunning scenery and the diverse flora and fauna Peru has to offer.
