The archaeological sites of Caral, Aspero and Vichama will remain open during the Independence Day long weekend on July 27-30, Culture Ministry informed on Saturday.

The three spots provide adequate facilities for holidaymakers, including ticket offices, parking, restrooms, dining areas, craft booths, souvenir shops and interpretation centers.

Visit routes have been implemented at each place.

For instance, the ancient city of Caral offers a tour of the urban center, located on the left-hand bank of the Supe River.

Likewise, visitors can witness excavation, research and conservation works undertaken by professional and technical staff responsible for Caral Archaeological Area.

The Vichama tour, for its part, will showcase urban architectural infrastructures featuring the area's social organization and religious beliefs.

It must be noted three non-fired clay sculptures were found at the place back in 2015. They were described as one of the greatest discoveries of the year by the National Geographic Society.

While in Aspero —Caral civilization's fishing town— tourists will appreciate major structures, including a pyramid that contained eight transverse flutes when discovered.
