Peru to take part in TPP's Intellectual Property section

The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Intellectual Property (Indecopi) will participate in the inter-sessional talks on Intellectual Property of the 20th round of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations
The inter-sessional talks of diverse TPP working groups are set take place in Salt Lake City, Utah, from November 19-26, 2013.

At the negotiation talks on Intellectual Property will be discussed issues dealing with copyrights or related rights such as observance, inventions and distinguishing marks.  

Thus, Edgar Martin, head of  the Directorate Copyright (DDA) and Silvia Yesenia Solis, technical secretary of the Directorate of Inventions and New Technologies (DIN) will attend the said event on behalf of INDECOPI. 

The TPP is a proposed free trade agreement under negotiation by  12 countries including Australia, Brunei, Chile, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States, and Vietnam.

Furthermore, the TPP's goal is to liberalize the economies of the Asia-Pacific region allowing free movement of goods, services, capitals and people.
