Peru's Production Ministry (Produce) on Thursday announced Navy training ship BAP Union will promote various ground-breaking Peruvian products at 16 European and North American ports during its six-month journey.

Production sector's head Bruno Giuffra said Technological Institute of Production (ITP) has arranged the showcase.

"This is a great chance for entrepreneurs and our country to show the wide variety of products we have to offer," the minister said.

"They [products] align to national and international quality standards; in fact, many of them are already exported to different markets," he highlighted.

Upon vessel arrival, visitors will be able to enjoy value-added products made with hydrobiological and agroindustrial resources.

"This is the case of bitter chocolate —made with Huallaga cacao at ITP facilities— olive oil, olives stuffed with rocoto pepper, coconut oil, hamburgers, giant squid nuggets and mackerel fillet," he added.

After leaving Callao, the vessel will sail to Boston (United States), Gulf of St. Lawrence (Canada), London (England), Hamburg (Germany), Amsterdam (the Netherlands), La Coruña (Spain), Lisbon (Portugal) and Guayaquil (Ecuador), among others.

Different firms will be showcasing their goods. The list includes Cartado, Shiwi, Pacific Trading, Fresh Coast Capers, Pesquera Exalmar, Consorcio Industrial El Pacifico, Coipsac, Inforhuay, CITEindigena, Grupo Vargas and Maderas Peruanas.

Participating companies have received direct and indirect benefits from Technological Innovation Centers (CITEs) services.
