Peruvian Under-20 men's national team will take on sides from Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador and Bolivia within the group A of next year’s South American Youth Football Championship.

The South American Football Confederation’s (CONMEBOL) President, Juan Angel Napout, along with the head of the Uruguay Football Association, Escribano Wilmar Valdez announced the tournament’s group-stage draws at a ceremony held on Monday in Uruguay.

The above-mentioned nation is scheduled to play host of the 27th edition of the continent’s traditional tournament from January 14th through February 7th, 2015.

Thus, Brazil, the national squad which has won this tournament the most with 11 trophies, were drawn in the Group B alongside the defending champions Colombia, while Chile, Uruguay and Venezuela also were drawn in this group stage.

In the first round the teams in each group all play each other. The first three teams in each group qualify to the final round which is expected to be played starting on 26th January in Uruguay’s capital Montevideo.

The top four teams will qualify to the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, to be played from May 30 to June 20, 2015.

The champion will also qualify for the Rio Olympics (August 3 to 19, 2016) and the second place team will go to a playoff with the third-ranked Pre-Olympic CONCACAF team for a spot in the Olympics.
