Peru to open embassy in Vietnam

The Peruvian government announced Wednesday it will open an embassy in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam as part of its policy to strengthen bilateral cooperation and political dialogue.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Peruvian embassy will be established in the city of Hanoi, capital of Vietnam.

The establishment of this office is also part of the development process of social inclusion for 2013-2016 period.

"One of the guidelines of Peru's foreign policy is to strengthen its strategic presence in the Asia-Pacific region, and it's necessary to continue to expand and deepen political, diplomatic and economic relations and trade," the 065-2013-RE decree says.
