Peru to invest over US$701mln in access infrastructure projects

Peru’s Transport and Communications Ministry (MTC) announced Saturday the government will invest more than 1,800 million soles (US$ 701.8) by 2016 in transport infrastructure projects and access to high-capacity communications in central region of Pasco.
MTC's minister, Carlos Paredes, reported in 2013 and the following years will be a series of interventions that will help Pasco connect more efficiently with Huanuco, Junin and Lima regions, improving competitiveness and life's quality.
 
Indeed, the start of rehabilitation and improvement works in 140 kilometers of roads (86.9 miles) was announced for 2013 within the framework of the 2012 decentralized ministerial meeting held in Villa Rica (Pasco region).

This will require a US$ 155.9 million investment, highlighting roads ‘Canta – Huayllay’ and ‘Puerto Bermúdez- Ciudad Constitución – Puerto’.
 
Moreover, Paredes stated for the next year the construction of Highway ‘Bridge Reither - Bridge Paucartambo - Villa Rica’ (39.4 kilometers) will be finished with a US$ 62.2 million investment, benefiting more than 55,000 people.
