Peru to attend TPP ministerial talks in Singapore

Peru's Foreign Trade Vice Minister, Edgar Vásquez, will join government's top officials from countries participating in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations at a ministerial meeting, to be held in Singapore, on December 7-10, 2013.
According to a resolution published Monday, the High-Level gathering is aimed at exchanging views and providing further guidance to negotiators.

Other major topic include finalize pending issues discussed during previous negotiating rounds through plenary and bilateral meetings among ministers.

Joining the Peruvian delegation will be officials from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) such as Daisy Olortegui, Ernesto Guevara, Boris Gómez, José Luis Castillo, Lorena Urbina, Mónica del Pilar, Teresa Mera  and  Angela Guerra.

The TPP builds on the existing P4 Trade Agreement between Brunei Darussalam, Chile, New Zealand and Singapore.

Currently the trade and investment liberalization initiative is being negotiated by 12 countries, namely: Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States and Vietnam.
