Peru to attend 18th round of TPP in Malaysia

Peru’s Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Funds (SBS) will participate in the 18th round of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations, to be held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, on July 15-25, 2013.
The SBS will attend the meetings of the negotiating group on finance services, which will take place during the whole event period.

The said gatherings will address topics on the provision of services offered by companies operating in monitored systems and issues related to investments in the country.

Thus, the SBS will provide technical support which as supervisory body and regulator of the financial systems as well as of insurance and private pensions.

The SBS has authorized the trip of one of its officials to take part in the event.

The TPP is a regional free-trade agreement between countries in America, Asia and Oceania under the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
