Peru soccer team kicks off training session before facing the U.S.

The Peruvian national soccer team started training sessions in Washington D.C. on Tuesday.

These will serve as preparation for the friendly match to be played against the U.S. on Friday at 19:00 (GMT-4).

Although Peruvian players -who defend foreign teams- had not joined the national squad yet, coach Ricardo Gareca was joined 19 athletes at the Catholic University of America's sports center.

Due to injury, forward Paolo Guerrero could not join training. The Flamengo star currently undergoes a rehabilitation process.

Meanwhile, striker Jefferson Farfan will join the team soon. On Monday night, he had traveled from Lima to Washington D.C.

The national team will conduct the second training session during the afternoon.
