Peru: SME's business expectations worth over US$2.8 million thanks to Expoalimentaria

Small and medium-sized enterprises’ business expectations total S/.8.60 million (about US$2.64 million) due to their participation in the Expoalimentaria 2015 Fair held in Lima on August 26-28, Peru’s Ministry of Production announced.

According to the Ministry's Productive Development Executive-Director Carlos Gallardo, SMEs managed to establish 540 business contacts and concretize deals worth S/.2.5 million (worth about US$760,000).

"Buyers from Brazil, the U.S., Canada, South Korea, Japan and the Netherlands were highly interested in buying [...]," he expressed.

Negotiations

The most remarkable deal worth US$450,000 was closed between a Dutch enterprise and Peruvian 'Kion Export'. It consists of organic mango, ginger, lemon and avocado exports.

16 participating enterprises were selected through a national call. Later, these received training in negotiation, strategic planning, marketing and sales.

Several products

Several products such as olive, avocado, condiments, seasonings, sauces, processed maca, organic ginger, quinoa-gelatinized flour, maca, sacha inchi, yacon, dry aguaymanto, nectars, fruit concentrate, andean grains, snacks were offered by SMEs during the event.
