Peru booked their second victory at 2013 FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship after beating the Czech Republic in straight sets on Monday evening.

In front of 2,850 Czech fans in Brno, World No. 10 Peru took advantage of Czech Republic’s 34 unforced errors to clinch a 3-0 win (25-19, 25-18, 25-15) in their last Pool A match.

The South Americans concluded their pool campaign with a win-loss ratio of 2-2 while the hosts of the 2013 FIVB Women’s U20 World Champs drop to 1-2.

Veronika Trnkova topped the scorers with 13 points for the Czech Republic while Milagros Rodriguez was the best scorer for Peru with 11 points.

The Czech Republic had no answers to the solid game of their opponents. Peru only allowed a few attacking manoeuvres as they covered all attacking points at the net and on the floor, website fivb.org reported.

However, the main reason for Peru’s undisputed 3-0 win were the 34 mistakes the home team committed compared to only 15 on Peru’s side. The 2,850 fans tried their best to push their local heroines but did not succeed.

The Czech Republic continue their Women’s U20 World Champs operations on Tuesday versus Chinese Taipei.

On Sunday, Peru were beaten by the Dominican Republic in a thrilling 2-3 challenge (25-18, 28-30, 25-22, 14-25, 8-15).
