Peru: shipped-by-sea exports account for 71.8%

In the first months of the year most of the Peruvian exports have been shipped by sea, accounting for 71.8% of the total deliveries, Peru’s Exporters Association (Adex) announced.

The Service and Extractive Industry Services Managements at Adex announced air dispatches were ranked second (23.1%); whereas those transported by road represented 3.5%.

It added during the said period the movement of containers amounted 669,061 TEUs.

According to Adex, shipping operators, which managed to “mobilize most TEUs” were Callao-based ports: DP World and APM Terminals, with 436,301 and 161,194 TEUs, respectively.

Meanwhile, Terminales Portuarios Eurandinos, Paita port’s current concessionaire is turning into one of the main terminals in the country, due to the improvements carried out to infrastructure.
