Peru and Russia will launch a bilateral cooperation program that includes anti-drug training courses and the creation of a South American-Russian anti-drug training center.
The announcement was made after a meeting between Russian ambassador to Peru, Nikolay Sofinskiy; and head of the country's National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (Devida), Carmen Masias.
These measures were taken on the sidelines of an agreement signed between Devida and the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation (FSKN) in June, 2012.
Sofinskiy confirmed the attendance of FSKN Chief Viktor Ivanov at the International Conference on Alternative Development (ICAD) to be held in Peru on November 14-16, 2012.
During his visit to Peru, Viktor Ivanov and Peru's Interior Minister, Wilfredo Pedraza will inaugurate the first multinational anti-drug training and advanced course given by FSKN experts.
