Peru, Russia Leaders agree on increasing trade

Leaders Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (Peru) and Vladimir Putin (the Russian Federation) agreed on tripling bilateral trade, as well as increasing mutual cooperation.

Corresponding audience took place at Lima Convention Center, within the framework of the 2016 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum Leaders' Summit.

According to Lima's Government Palace, the leaders confirmed the excellent level of bilateral relations.

Such level has been reflected on actions taken within the framework of the Strategic Partnership existing between both economies since November 2015.

In this sense, they addressed the importance of consolidating a broader cooperation scheme in all areas possible.

Both nations have negotiated 17 agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral trade.  

Likewise, Peruvian and Russian Leaders stressed the need to triple current trade's figure, and thus reach US$1 billion over the following years, as well as to encourage strategic investments.
