The Government of Peru has introduced recently acquired aircrafts within the framework of a process intended to strengthen and update the Peruvian Air Force (FAP).

The presentation took place at Las Palmas Air Base in Surco, and saw the participation of Peruvian Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano, Peru's Defense Minister Jakke Valakivi, among other civil and military authorities.

A C-27J Spartan transport aircraft, seven Cessna 172 Skyhawks, one Piper PA-44, as well as ten MI 171 SH-P helicopters stood out among the rest.

The said crafts will be used by the Peruvian Army.

C-27J Spartan's capacity and engine power are better than those of the current FAP transport fleet.

Such capacity enables it to operate in adverse weather conditions, which significantly expands its transfer capacity, logistical burden and emergency operations.

Training aircrafts such as Cessna 172 Skyhawk and Piper PA-44 are high-tech air platforms designed to prepare aeronautical leaders at different academic and practical levels.

Ten out of 24 MI 171 SH-P helicopters, acquired from Russian Federation, will aid rescue, transport and landing operations of troops, and deliver equipment and ammunition in conflict zones, mainly in Vraem.
