Peruvian agricultural products, such as quinoa, chia, camu-camu and maca have a great growth potential on the Japanese market, which comprises over 123 million people, Peruvian Ambassador to Japan Elard Escala affirmed.

Blueberries, kiwicha and sacha inchi are also comprised in the variety of Peruvian products, which have the same potential abroad.

Besides traditional mining products and fish meal, which account for the largest share of Peruvian exports, many national agricultural products are currently offered at Japanese supermarkets, as do: Mangoes, as well as white-, green, fresh and frozen asparagus, the Ambassador said.

Likewise, frozen strawberries, organic coffee and banana, Cusco-grown giant corn and ancestral quinoa also belong to the list. Giant squid, eel and flying fish eggs are consumed by Japanese customers.

Similarly, Peruvian Alpaca-fiber and cotton made garments are sold in the Asian country, he mentioned.

It must be noted mangoes, asparagus are considered top Peruvian products in the land of the Rising Sun, as was highlighted by the top official during the 9th Road Show Asia 2015, organized by inPERU.

Due to the Peru-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement, the Asian nation granted preferential access to 99.8% of Peruvian exports.

Nowadays, Peru exports 254 new products to Japan, most of these come from the non-traditional sector (94%), and 281 new exporting enterprises have been added to the list, 93.6% of which are SMEs, Scala affirmed.

The inPERU 9th Road Show: Asia 2015 is aimed at highlighting the country's potential and consolidating Peru as the nation which offers the most attractive investment opportunities to foreign investors.

InPERU is a non-profit Peruvian association founded by the main business organizations of the Peruvian market. It is committed to promoting Peru's opportunities, as well as its financial and capital markets in overseas.

Road Show Asia 2015 will subsequently continue in Seoul (South Korea) and come to an end on September 11 in Beijing (China).
