Peru’s Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano suggested Paraguay assess the possibility to co-produce KT-1 basic trainer aircrafts, jointly manufactured by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) and the FAP's Maintenance Service Department (SEMAN) in Peru.

The Ministerial Cabinet’s Chief informed the Paraguayan Defense Minister Diogenes Martinez of such proposal during the protocol meeting they held within the framework of his official visit to Asuncion.

During the gathering at the Defense Ministry headquarters, the topics discussed included security and defense cooperation between Peru and Paraguay.

Cateriano and Martinez discussed the possibility to establish cooperation mechanisms to share satellite imagery, taking into account Peru will launch, in July, the Submetric Earth Observation Satellite, the first of its kind in Latin America.

They also addressed the need to exchange training experiences, so that Paraguayan cadets can be trained in Peru and vice versa.

Moreover, the government officials assessed the possibility to bring foreign affairs and defense ministers together to hold two-plus-two talks on a regular basis.
