The second meeting for dialogue, to be attended by members of Executive Power and representatives of Peru’s main political parties, will enable to unify criteria regarding the needed political (electoral) reform, especially with the parties represented in Congress, affirmed today the President of the Council of Ministers, Ana Jara.

On her Twitter account, Ms. Jara highlighted the need for reform and engaging in discussion, in order not to delay the matter.

“The second appointment for national dialogue will be an opportunity for the political class, especially those [forces], with a representation in Congress, to unify criteria in regard to the political reform, which include the electoral reform. The matter is extremely important and doesn't wait for further dilatation,” she wrote.

The new meeting for national dialogue will be held on March 3 at Lima’s Government Palace.

It will be presided over by President Ollanta Humala, who will be joined by Ms. Jara.

This is the second meeting to be held within a less-than-a-month period. The first meeting was attended by most political collectives, but the APRA and Fuerza Popular.
