Wife of Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, Nancy Lange, took part in the graduation of Women Police Stations’ first volunteer recruits on Saturday.
The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 30 women.
The initiative is intended to get citizens involved in prevention and eradication of violence against women and other family members.
The new program has been implemented in accordance to Law No 30364, which penalizes this behavior, as well.
Volunteers were trained by the National Police, and a second group of 30 women are being prepared.
