Peru President thanks Paraguay for aid to disaster victims

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Wednesday expressed his gratitude to the people and Government of neighboring Paraguay for its support to landslide and flood victims.

The Paraguayan Government on Tuesday delivered 11.6 tons of humanitarian aid. Relief was comprised of non-perishable food supplies and personal hygiene items, Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry informed. 

Paraguayan President Horacio Cartes on Sunday affirmed the donation was a gesture of solidarity, friendship and support to Peruvian counterpart Pedro Pablo Kuczynski.
 
Similarly, Paraguay's National Emergency Secretariat expressed its support to Peru in a video, saying it stands by the Andean nation as Una Sola Fuerza (A Single Force) thus referring to the nation's emergency campaign.

The fellow South American country joined the international response to natural disasters lashing the Inca nation.

The Andean nation previously received generous contributions from Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, China, the United States, Bolivia, Canada, Panama and Pope Francis.
