Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski thanked the people of Japan for the delivery of humanitarian aid to landslide and flood-affected families in Peru.

Via Twitter, the Peruvian leader highlighted the aid composed of tents, blankets, mattresses, electric generators and water purifiers.

The Japanese Government, through its Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), donated 90 tents, 500 blankets, 480 mattresses, 40 water purifiers and 50 power generators on Tuesday.

Japan Ambassador to Peru Tatsuya Kabutan supervised the delivery at the National Civil Defense Institute's (Indeci) main warehouse.

Bringing water and energy to the population most affected by rains and landslides is key to tackling emergency situations, he said at that time.
