Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski suggested helping out Venezuela, fellow South-American country currently going through a severe crisis.

In remarks to Bloomberg TV, Peru's top official noted "the prescription is simple, but hard to implement."

Due to lack of medicines and starvation registered in Venezuela, he proposed establishing a "club of countries" including: Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Peru, which host pharmaceutical industries.

"We have food. We can help out," Mr. Kuczynski assured a reporter.

"Now, Maduro doesn't want that because he says everything is perfect in Venezuela, but that's not true. Everybody knows that," he said.

"And the second thing is there has to be pressure in a nice way, without trying to interfere too much," he added.

The Head of State also criticized Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro's authoritarianism expressed by putting enemies behind bars.

New style

Regarding his governing style, he noted Peruvians, youngsters above all, were looking for a different type of leadership compared to previous administrations.

According to the President, almost one million university students "want a leader who isn’t going to grandstand and make long-winded speeches from the dais."

"[Instead], they want somebody they can talk to, have a selfie taken with, and who receives people, and so I think this is a more easygoing style, more informal; [for example,] I drive my car to the gym; you know, that kind of stuff," said the 77-year-old leader.

As is known, Mr. Kuczynski is currently in New York to address the United Nations General Assembly.
