Peru’s President Ollanta Humala travelled to the Sancos district, located in the Huancasancos province (Ayacucho region).

There he participated in the ceremony marking the inauguration of the concluded maintenance and conservation works, which were conducted on the Llauta-Puente Caracha-Huansancos-Carapo 130.1-kilometer-long stretch.

Works are expected to directly benefit 8,774 people, among those residents of the neighbor zones: Llauta, Laramate, Sancos and Carapo.

The corresponding investment was worth over S/.58 million (over US$18.71 million).

The aforementioned stretch is part of the 328.64-kilometer-long Ayacuacho-Tambillio-Ocros y Chalco-Pampa Cangallo-Carapo-Huancasancos-Llauta-Palpa road corridor.

The entire project demanded an investment worth over S/.164 million (over US$52.90 million).
