In an early meeting held at the Lima-based Government Palace, Peruvian President Ollanta Humala and Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Borge Brende reviewed the investment made by the Scandinavian country in Peru, especially in the renewable energy sector.

Borge Brende is currently in Peru attending the 2015 World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings.

Peru thanked Norway for the support in the organization of COP20, and for supporting Peru on climate and forest issues.

It should be noted Peru-Norway diplomatic relations were established on August 27, 1933, and since then everything has gone smoothly.

Norway is the most prosperous Nordic country, according to the United Nations; besides the British magazine The Economist states that Norwegians enjoy the most democratic political system on the planet.
