Peru President guarantees Water Treatment project for Lake Titicaca

The Lake Titicaca Water-treatment Plant project's execution was guaranteed by Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Tasso on Thursday.

Titicaca is a large, deep Lake in the Andes located on the border of Peru and Bolivia at an altitude of 3,812 meters above sea level.

The project aims to decontaminate water and thus benefit the region's citizens.

"In order to ensure project's execution, it was declared of national interest, so works will not be held back […]," top official indicated. 

In this sense, Mr. Humala highlighted the current administration is leaving a series of social programs for the next five-year period.

The Head of State made remarks during the inauguration ceremony for the new health center located in Acora district, Puno region. 

The center will assist over 29,000 Aymara citizens with the aim of improving life quality.
